I can wear it round the house without the trousers, so if someone calls at the door it will be extra awkward

Yet another Type F MkII field telephone (but this one is in spankingly brilliant condition, but again without it's box )
A Type J post-war field telelphone in great condition (which is a pretty good looky-like to the war-time/post-war Type L as the 'J' was the "improved" version of the 'L' - with the only external diffrence being the lack of a bell vent on the front), which works like as if new.

The helmet is usually dated on the metal lugs that secure the chinstrap.
Either way a very nice condition lid..

Just received a MkII from Roy. 1940 stamped on the black leather between the crown and rear of the helmet, which I assume makes it a 1940 helmet?
The liner appears to be missing 1 rubber buffer and a part of the rexene going from the pics?
Yeah but infinitely better than the liner in my 1938 one....

Does the shell have three equidistant holes along the back of the lip?
Or three on each side in a triangular shape?

The chinstrap mounts on this one are within the 'bowl' of the helmet, rather than out onto the rim like yours. The only markings I can spot on the shell are "JSS" and below that half obscured by the chinstrap mounting bracket "940". All stamped in 10mm letters.
JSS is the makers stamp(cannot remember who im afraid) and the 940 is the date with the 1 being obscured by the chinstrap lug.
